Nov. 11th, 2004 05:53 pmThis year, the poppies are black-centred (I also finally payed for one, though I really think my younger self was being given them free of expected-donation at school, or finding them around the house, rather than unwittingly robbing the dignified old men who hand them out at the Seabus); somewhat perversely, I find I miss the green ones. I once had an idea for a murder mystery in which the victims would have been stabbed through the throat with Remembrance Day poppies. It would have been called "A Different Kind Of Remembrance", which my eight-year-old brain thought was a pretty clever title.
Quick! Does anyone reading this who is likely to attend my birthday party (possibly that's just Marilee) have any ideas for what I should do, beyond just inviting everyone to my house and counting on our entertaining ourselves? The best day for that is probably Saturday (the relevant anniversary itself takes place Monday), which means I've left this a little late.
Also, if anyone wants to ask me three questions, feel free.
