Odyssey; not the Homeric one. It used to be on CBC, but I wasn't quite old enough to systematically figure out when. The main character was in a coma, and the action took place both in the real world and in his dream world, where he and some analogues to his real life friends were on a quest to find his father, who had vanished in a real-world boating accident some years before. In the dream world, there were no adults (at least at first), and things that had once belonged to his father were considered to be powerful magical items. He became involved in the resistance against an oppressive government; I think it had its seat of authority in a place called the Tower. The whole thing was naturally very surreal.

Does anyone else remember this show? I liked it a lot.
