It doesn't offer me a great deal of political insight, but that's not really what it's trying for, and it does make me happy.
Yoon Ha Lee has written a piece about her brief recent stay in a mental health institution, and it's calm and clear and graceful and kind. She says that she might lock it, but in the meantime, it's there where I've linked to it.
7:58 AM - We're at the YM-YWCA in Saint John. The PM is announcing that under a Liberal government, the national early learning and child care program will be made a permanent part of Canada's social foundation. A bunch of kids are sitting on the floor in front of the Prime Minister as he speaks. They're being kids and talking amongst themselves and playing and stuff, despite the riveting rhetoric about "pertinent infrastructure." Adults are being adults and using their index fingers to make the Shhhh! face. The children, who are our future (fyi), are ignoring the adults. Now some kids are sliding along the floor on their bellies toward the PM. He's under attack! Run for your life, sir!
