February novel-reading
1: Okay, here's an entry.
So I managed to be kind of responsible, though not as much as this list might imply, because a bunch of that time not spent reading was spent doing stuff like visiting Rachel and watching television. (Surprisingly impressive shows that I am currently in the middle of watching for the first time: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Princess Tutu, and Farscape.)
2: I wonder whether word is starting to get around, yet, among people who weren't at either of the shows so far, that La La Boom Boom is good? Because they're really good. I mean, not just by the standards of people one happens to know.
At their show on Friday the band invited me to stand next to them while they played and shake an egg-shaped shaking instrument. I was really nervously ambivalent about this (which probably didn't look at all like a big deal to anybody else in the room), but I'm glad that I did it, because it was a lot of fun.
3: Am I the only Canadian who likes having elections?
A. S. Byatt, Possession(Steven Brust actually has two middle initials. He just chooses not to use them.)
Steven Brust, The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars
Laurie J. Marks, Water Logic
Peter S. Beagle, The Last Unicorn

Ooh, you're watching T:tSSC? Isn't it good? I'm really enjoying it so far, hope it gets renewed. Missed it last night and downloaded ep; watched ep8 but not ep9 yet. Enjoyed ep8... I'm really enjoying Summer Glau on the show.
Re: #4 - well, I'd like it when it gives me a chance to get the Conservatives out of power. :)

I am in the same position as you re: Terminator. That wink was amazing.
That aspect will certainly lend it a certain frisson this time around. But really I just like the experience of democratic participation (both that on my own part and my sense of the heightened engagement of the general dialogue) whenever I can get away with it, regardless of whether I'm also pleased with the outcome.

Paper's due April 28th. I've read bits and pieces of the FS book, and I'm also going to go back to the other FS book that's been released (also essays, but less academic - still some useful stuff, though). I picked up several books from Koerner Library, and I'm going to start reading them soon to get some background ideas and theories on feminism in TV and such.
I finished the T:tSSC finale last night - awesomeness. The wink in 1.08 was indeed awesome. :) And I loved the scene in 1.09 when Derek showed John himself and Kyle when they were young. Awww. ;_; I really hope this show gets renewed!
Yeah, I agree - I like voting, and I think it's important to do so. I get frustrated with people who are apathetic and don't bother. *sigh*

photos of us + you + egg haven't surfaced yet, but I'm holding out hope!
