Little or no influence on society

Sumana's latest article is interesting (and familiar) to me.

As most of this weblog's readers are probably aware, there is very little daring or variety in my wardrobe. Monochromatic t-shirts, dark sweat pants; a sweater, if it's cold. Sometimes, I think that it would be nice to look more interesting - even if it did mean allocating more brainpower to the figuring out of what I'm going to wear in the morning - but I don't really know how I'd go about it. It would need to be something offbeat, not least because I'm a bit of a clothing snob, and would not really be satisfied with many of the more common options (e.g. jeans).

A while ago, my mother was going to help me learn to make my own pants, which would at least help my default outfit feel cooler to me. I should take that up again.

I am amused that a man who believes sweatpants are appropriate day-to-day wear considers himself too much a clothing snob for jeans.
