It's the space between terms -- three weeks long, in my case, of which two are passed -- and I am celebrating by prioritizing and passionately applying myself to things which are not important in any time-dependent way. I've finally finished Final Fantasy 6, reactivated my City of Heroes account, and read several very good novels, one of which was especially long:
Maxine Hong Kingston, The Woman Warrior
Nnedi Okarafor-Mbachu, Zahrah the Windseeker
Neal Stephenson, Anathem
Josephine Tey, The Daughter of Time
John M. Ford, The Dragon Waiting (reread)
And yes, that's year three done. I'll do stats later.

All the other mammals in the house left today on a trip to Saskatchewan, where my sister lives now; I didn't go in part because my school will be back before they are. Since I've never been here on my own for this long (it will be a fortnight), it will be interesting to see whether the solitude gets weird; it hasn't had time to yet, except that I keep turning around expecting the dog to be there.

We Live In The Future Watch: 'antigravity gardens' (that is, vertical ones). I would also accept this as "We live in a Miyazaki movie."

Do you have a "we live in the future" tag?

Why are you asking instead of just looking up there? Yes, it's called 'future watch'. (But I've only used it three times.)

Your tags weren't appearing at the time; I assumed you had forgotten to apply them to this entry.

But! You've definitely posted future-watches more than thrice!

They don't show up on the 'reply' view; just the straight entry view. I have no idea why this is, but livejournal has been doing it for as long as I've had tags.

I actually think I haven't WLITFWed any other time, but if you find something that disproves me, let me know and I will tag it! (As evidenced by the existence of the tag, it became a standby of the weblog in my head much quicker than its prevalence really justified. Perhaps the same thing happened to you? I may also have invoked it in e-mail or other conversation.)

Whoops; sorry, I forgot this comment was here! Hint: it was Anathem. (I thought it was really good -- my favourite of his that I've read, although since upon reflection I realise that I've only read Cryptonomicon and like the first fifty pages of The Diamond Age, that's not as impressive as it might be. It required a lot of science fictional interpolative work but played fair about it and rewarded it, at least in my case, with a lot of delight.)
